Bub-bye Yukon

Mike sold the Yukon on Monday night. I didn't get to say my good-bye's.
I'm not happy, in fact, I'm pretty upset about it.
Long story short: WE decided to sell the Yukon about 6 weeks ago. I posted it for sale. People looked. No one bought. I decided I didn't want to sell it about 2 weeks ago. I removed all posts. Some woman still called, and bought the truck on Monday.
There are 2 very different tales to this story- enough said.
But, the reason we sold the truck is Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover. There is really nothing magical about this book and the practice other than common sense in black and white. So, since the first week in March when we both finished reading this book, we've been paying down the debt we've accumulated. In the end (about 20 months) we'll be completely debt free except for our house, which we calculate will take about another 5.5 years to pay off entirely. For me, this is like the end of the world. Not spending money??!?!?! How can a person live without buying things they want??! I've also had to learn how to use cash instead of my check card all the time. We have a strict budget and get cash to use throughout the week instead of swiping the check card whenever we want something.
In the end, though, it will be all worth it. Like Dave Ramsey says, "live like no one else, so that later you can live like no one else."
I highly recommend Dave Ramsey's book to anyone, by the way.
