A piece of advice for our Governor

There's sure no reason for them to take advice from me, but our nation's leaders should take a bit of advice from their voters.  My opinion being that they should get out in their state and join the work force of those contributing to our GDP.
In our great state of Minnesota, for example, our elected leaders need to spend a few days in the north woods logging trees, on the western plains harvesting some grain, and on the farm milking some cows. Seriously.
I guess what inspired me to think of something like this was my afternoon marathon of Sara Palin's Alaska on TLC. I happen to watch the show pretty religiously, not to watch the Palin's but to see Alaska. I want and need to go to Alaska! (that's a completely different topic)
Whether Sarah Palin agreed to do this show for the publicity or the cash, I'm not sure, but I do like the fact that she seems to really appreciate her home state and everyone who works hard to make it prosper. The show's premise seems to be the Palin's appreciation for their state and highlights their travels throughout the summer. Sarah Palin goes on a bunch of different adventures, and I enjoy seeing her trying new things and enjoying the state.
So, that got me thinking about everything in Minnesota that our leaders can appreciate and learn about to better position themselves and become more trusted. If they spend 18 hours straight in a combine in October, then they'd know the wants and needs of a farmer in western Minnesota. If someone spent the day in a hard hat with a chainsaw in northern Minnesota, they'd know that for each tree cut for lumber and paper, something like 3 more are planted in it's place. Getting down and dirty on a dairy farm is just another task to check off their list. We may not have the gorgeous scenery that Alaska has, but our leaders can definitely learn something about what and who makes Minnesota, Minnesota. We're known around the country for our farming operations and our ports in Duluth and our logging. So, perhaps our leaders should really know what they're talking about and tour the state.
Get out represent us!!!
